To celebrate the start of their autumn term of dance classes, the Lancaster dance school is offering locals the chance to take a dance class for just £1.

For one week only, starting Monday (September 8) the Ludus dance studio on King Street will be offering a range of classes at the one-off
bargain price.

Rachel Keller, head of dance development said: "This is such a great way of trying out a dance style you might never have tried before, or for just dipping your toe in the water to see if you'd like to join a dance class.

"Here at Ludus, we're committed to getting people up and moving, and to dance just for the fun of it.

"We purposefully don't run any exams or grades – it's all about having a good time without any pressure. And now, for one week in September you can try out a dance class for less than the price of a drink. What have you got to lose?"

To celebrate the start of Dance For £1 week, Ludus Dance have planned an all day event in Lancaster's Market Square this Saturday (Septem-ber 6), when tutors and dancers from Ludus will be demonstrating various dance styles.

Members of the public are most welcome to watch, and will be invited to join in and have a go. Whilst the demonstrations are taking place the team from Ludus Dance will be on hand to answer any queries, and brochures for the new autumn term will be available.

Members of the new Ludus Youth Dance Company – including young dancers from across the North West – will also be performing.

These youngsters will work together throughout the year, culminating in a tour of North West venues next spring, where they will be able to show off their dance talents.

Ludus' dance classes for £1 will be in tap, adult contemporary, youth contemporary, youth street dance and beginners' lindy hop.

You don't need to have any dance experience to join, just a desire to try something new!
