WATCH your backs, Chase This City.
Lancaster's Obviously 4 Believers are the newest contenders for the "sexiest band in the area" crown – claimed by Chase This City in The Session recently.
Comprising young heartthrobs Sam Hayward (vocals/guitar), Adam Hartley (lead guitar/backing vocals), Jack Williamson (drums) and Ross Little (bass), the band back in 2005 "through a love of good music. We were originally a bit of a joke sixties band called The Dudes," admits Adam.
"I was asked to join by the original bassist, Jules. The line-up has changed twice since we started. Playing "fresh-sounding indie blues", the band's name is derived from the title of a Bob Dylan track.
"We're all really big fans of Bob Dylan and so we went through the tracks on Blonde on Blonde and Obviously 5 Believers sounded pretty good to us." says Sam.
"We decided to change to Obviously 4 Believers though because we thought it would get annoying people asking where the fifth guy is."
Recently back from playing Kendal Calling festival, alongside top acts Dizzee Rascal, Super Furry Animals and Glasvegas, the band are also set to play a few more UK dates later in the year.
Lancaster and Morecambe supporters can catch them at the Yorkshire House on Friday, August 15, where they'll be promoting their debut single 'Then I'll Be Leaving You'.
Girls, form an orderly queue.
